We would to wish everybody a Happy New Year and thank each and every one of you for your continuing support and patience as we transform into the HD cable channel. 2010 will be our most important year to date. It is the year where all our hard work will be put to test, the year where Nightlyfe TV finally establishes the cable channel. Over the course of the year, expect many updates as to our cable agreements, development of our HQ studio, beta tests of many programs, show & host announcements, filming schedules, job opportunities both full time and freelance, and much more.

2010 will be one heck of a interesting year, so please continue to spread the word, show your support and most importantly, keep reading the newsletter as we will have some contests and giveaways for you this year.

GOOGLE NEXUS ONE The latest Uber-Smartphone

This week saw the launch of Google's first cell phone to match wits with Palm Pre, Apple iphone and others. This time around Google packed their android technology in their very own phone signaling a shot across the bow to the rest of the herd in the top notch smartphone/touchscreen market that they mean to be a serious player in this market.

The phone looks nice enough and from what I've seen, seems to be capable enough for most users. With T-mobiles sweetheart deal vis-à-vis the phone ($179 for new activation vs. $579 for an unlocked phone), all 4 major carriers in the US now have a top of the line product to compete with one another. SUMMER DRINK IN THE WINTER

Here in the Nations Capital where we reside, we got hammered by over 2ft of snow during the holidays (more precisely one week before Christmas followed by some bone chilling weather) As I spent the better part of that Saturday & Sunday shoveling snow, freezing my extremities while cleaning my car for the umpteenth time, and gingerly making my way to the grocery store, I fondly yearned for summer time to come quick. So to all those who suffered through those white-out conditions then and the freeze-out in the Midwest now, here's a drink to bring a bit of summer time into these wintry days.

Strawberry Mint Batida

Batidas (pronounced ba-chi-da) means “shaken” or “milkshake.” in Portugese. Its cachaca cocktails made with fruit juice or pureed fruit, usually with sugar added. Milk or sweetened condensed milk are also commonly used.

     In blender:
     2 oz cachaca (Cabana)
     3-4 strawberries
     0.5 oz fresh lime juice
     1 oz sweet condensed milk
     2-3 mint leaves
     1 cup crushed ice
     Garnish fresh mint

How thick you want it its really up to you, just add more juice if it gets too slushy.
