ELECTIONS NIGHT LIFE STYLE SPIN THE VOTE CAMPAIGN

What better way to get involved in this years key Presidential campaign than via Night  life. Well, that's what the folks over at the Obama/Biden Campaign have figured out with their ingenious "Spin The Vote" campaign.  Great Venues, good DJ's libations and all the election stuff you need courtesy of the Obama Campaign. Now that's money well spent.

The Miami event was held on October 18th at the White Room and included Barack Obama representatives, along with Joe Garcia, Annette Taddeo, Raul Martinez and congressman Robert Wexler. Arthur Baker was the featured DJ that Night.

The New York event was held on October 13th at Santos Party House and included a bunch of Local DJ's along with Arthur Baker.

Huffington Post has a nice little article about the Miami event here

We've tried to stay out of the political commentary here at Nightlyfe, but when a campaign reaches out so well and understands its supporters, then throws in night life themed events, we can only say kudos to the Obama/Biden campaign and pretty much endorse them. That being said, if an Obama win were to take place, we fully expect some kind of night life event celebration in Washington D.C. at or before inauguration day.

A FEW OF THE BEST MEN'S DRINKS THE ROB ROY

This week our attention shifts to another fine  drink. The Rob Roy is a cocktail similar to a Manhattan. The drink is named for the Scottish folk hero Robert Roy MacGregor. The Manhattan is made with any other whiskey, while the Rob Roy is made with Scotch whisky. Variants of the drink include the Dry Rob Roy, which is made with dry vermouth and the Perfect Rob Roy, which is made with equal parts sweet and dry vermouth. The drink traditionally contains Angostura bitters, but this ingredient is commonly omitted. Adding the honey-flavored liqueur Drambuie to a Rob Roy makes a Bobbie Burns.

The Recipe
-1-1/2 oz. Scotch
-¼ oz. sweet vermouth
-Angostura Bitters to taste
-Maraschino cherry for garnish

Pour ingredients into a mixing glass or shaker filled with ice. Stir or shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (like a martini glass). Garnish with a cherry. Or pour entire contents into a short glass as seen with the ice.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Remember, to party hard and party safe. Be as creative as you can be with your costumes but try not to be offensive. Remember, it's nearly November and pretty darn cold out there so "bare" that in mind with your costumes.

Enjoy!
