5 SUMMER DRINKS THAT PACK A PUNCH A fine list from Askmen.com
Summer time is
the only time where guys are free to order up that sweet fruity cocktail
without eliciting nervous looks from his buddies. It's not that there's
anything wrong with drinking some of these drinks ( in the comfort of
one's home) but the Alpha male in most guys precluded many from
confidently ordering up one of those libations. Then again, summer drinks
are consumed during the day while on vacation, at happy hour on some roof
deck or at that weekend pool party. At night in the clubs and bars, it's
back to standard fair.
Anyway, Askmen.com has rounded up 5 drinks that they recommend and endorse as refreshing summer drinks for that provide and excellent alternative to the usual beer and coolers fair offered. They provide a detailed recipe, instructions and anecdotal comments by the author.
1. Sparkling Pineapple Punch 2. Planter's Punch 3. Piña Colada 4. Iced Coffee with Panache 5. White Sangria (as seen here) ___________
SONOTHEQUE Still going strong 1444 W. Chicago Avenue, Chicago IL 60622 - (312) 226-7600
If you haven't been to Sonotheque yet, then your in for an aural and visual treat, along with a fine menu from the restaurant. Although its name makes it sound like a throwback to the 70s. That said, it looks very 21st Century. Designed by the Londoner Suhail who made his mark at Sugar in Chicago, the space is all about sound, with curved walls, acoustic tiles and a state-of-the art speaker system. The grey-toned interior adds to the feeling of crisp coolness - you could run this club with a remote control console. Film clips playing on overhead projections and swanky couches on a raised platform area perfect for sipping martinis and checking out the crowd all add to the chic feel. DJs spin mid tempo hip-hop, jazz and lounge sounds that go with the low-fidelity feel. |
