TOP 10 NEW BARS IN NYC! Those that made a debut in 2007

The guys over at Citysearch have put together a list of the top ten bars that have debuted in 2007. Crafted by JG at Citysearch (and the Imbible blog), this list is, and we stress is their opinion. So don't go emailing us about venues that should be on the list. For the full list, head on over to Citysearch.

1. Tailor 525 Broome St, New York, NY
Foodies may come to sample the peanut butter foie gras, but nightlife impresarios know the real action is downstairs, where beautiful people sip exquisite cocktails in an intimate setting.

6. Smith & Mills 71 N Moore St, New York, NY
Across from Robert De Niro's soon-to-open hotel lies this tiny Tribeca hideaway, where old-fashioned industry meets high-class cocktails.

8. Touch 240 W 52nd St, New York, NY
In the wake of its star-studded grand opening, this new nightclub is the most interesting thing to happen on West 52nd Street since "Jersey Boys"--and when a spot in midtown makes it to the top of anything, let alone a "Best Of" list, it has to be good.

ABSINTHE  and how to drink it.

by Rick Dobbs courtesy of martinigroove.com

As with any drink that has been around for a long time, Absinthe is steeped in history, tradition, and extreme headaches. Now that the licorice flavored herbal drink is legal in the US and we can expect a big rush for The Green Fairy, at least initially, it might be good to learn how to drink the stuff.

Wikihow has an article with everything you need to know about Absinthe. From how to select the right one (louche effect!), the different preparation methods for drinking it (glass in a glass for me), and how to not cut off your ear.
